Agreed. I was part of the Vagina Monologues for the first time this year. There are many things wrong with the production and the “movement”. Some of the reasons are mentioned above, but I would also include the female genital mutilation monologue as one that needs SERIOUS revision. I participated mostly because I know that it still has the potential to change some minds and spark feminism in the hearts of the audience. But obviously I think it needs built in creative freedom and some queer overhaulin’!!
